In September 1940, after seven years of exile, Walter Benjamin crosses the Pyrenees in a desperate attempt to escape the Nazis. According to the official version, Walter Benjamin did make it across the French-Spanish border successfully. But when he arrived in the Catalan town of Portbou, a sudden change in legislation impeded his entry into Spain and he was obliged to spend the night at a local hotel under the close vigilance of three guards, whose orders were to deport him the following morning. In utter despair, Benjamin took his own life, swallowing and overdose of morphine. The local doctor, however, declared it a natural death and Benjamin was given a Catholic burial in the municipal cemetery, under a wrong name. Did the doctor conceal some hidden cause of Benjamin's death? Was there really a change of legislation? Was Walter Benjamin aware that Portbou was a pro-Franco town virtually occupied by the Nazis? Who Killed Walter Benjamin... reaches for answers among the suspicious circumstances of his death. Giving at the same time, a portrait of a frontier town anchored between two fronts, constant witness of evasion, persecution and false hopes. Hisashi Tenmyouya: Samurai Nouveau presents a look into the artist Hisashi Tenmyouya and his NEO-Traditional Japanese Painting style. Tenmyouya breaks out of old, conventional stereotypes and inherits the distinctly Japanese counterculture and eccentricity. He incorporates modern art, traditional Japanese painting, street art, and illustration, being an artist that simply cannot be classified into a single genre. Throughout this film he uses gold foil and fine brushes to prepare for various exhibitions while people surrounding the artist share their thoughts. Watch Tenmyouya as he reveals his soul through melding of modern urban subjects with traditional painting methods.

九歲就進芭蕾學校的歐姍娜，一心想成為芭蕾女伶，同時報答媽媽苦心栽培她跳舞，遠離貧窮的夢想。為了跳出曼妙的舞姿，多年來永無止境的練習、嚴格的體重控制，以及犧牲與同年齡的孩子應有的自由，是芭蕾少女必經的犧牲之路。伴隨著許多挫敗、淚水、孤單，唯有不停自我激勵、要求，才能持續下去…。

This documentary shows Arvo Pärt at home with his family and working in his study. He is interviewed/provides voiceover in Estonian/Russian with subtitled English translations. Concert rehearsals (The Hilliard Ensemble/ Western Wind Choir/Paul Hillier) (unknown Finnish choir & orchestra/Eri Klas) and a studio session (Arvo Pärt: Yamaha DX7 keyboard, Jan Garbarek: tenor saxophone & Manfred Eicher: engineer) for the unreleased recording of what is reputedly Aetos are shown. Also a few minutes of the Kremer/Grindenko/Schnittke /Sondeckis Tabula Rasa performance is shown which would lead one to think that there is a complete video recording of that as well as the WDR Radio recording used for the ECM release. The tone of the documentary alternates from serious interviews/work to humorous scenes of Pärt clowning around and German "man on the street" interviews with people being asked "Who is Arvo Pärt?". Overall, a fascinating view into Pärt's work and lifestyle. 　　(Alan Teder)
